Level 1 (Preps)

We work at Level 1 of the CSF II, but offer extension activities at Level 2 and cater for individual needs. We have Early Years Literacy and Numeracy.

A transition program operates between Monash Primary and local Pre-schools and Childcare centres. Monash Primary school is a member of the Notting Hill Children Services program which exists between Deakin University, Notting Hill Pre-school and Monash Primary School. This program offers care for children from 7.30am to 6.00pm daily.

Themes are based on CSF II and are integrated across the curriculum. Excursions and Incursions are arranged to enhance student learning.

Reading homework is encouraged daily.

Rotation of Junior School teachers’ expertise is used to enrich Technology, Science, S.O.S.E. and The Arts.

A computer area is used by all Junior students and is networked to other Units in the school.
